I remember my father always cooking and baking while I was growing up and one of the favorite cookies he used to make was molasses cookies. I recently found his old recipe for them and I had to make them.
Ingredients
2 cups of milk with 1 tbsp vinegar mixed in (let sit while you prepare the other ingredients
6 cups of flour
3 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp ginger
3 tsp cinnamon
Stir dry ingredients together and sit aside.
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup molasses
Cream well together.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk mixture to creamed mixture. Mix well together.
Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
I hope your family enjoys these cookies as much as I did as a child
