yoga pillows and do some yoga. Me, I cook and since I had loads of green tomatoes I decide I would make some Chow Chow. Chow Chow is pickled green tomatoes and it's a Maritime specialty.
14 Cups of chopped green tomatoes
8 Cups of chopped onions
1/4 Cup of salt
3 Cups of vinegar
2 1/2 Cups of sugar
1/4 Cup of pickling spice
Place chopped tomatoes and onions in a large pot. Mix in the salt and cover. Let stand overnight. The next day drain off excess liquid. Add vinegar and salt. Place pickling spice in a coffee filter, tie securely, and add to pot. Bring all ingredients to a boil. Remove cover and let simmer for about and hour while stirring occasionally. Put in jars. Let stand until cool.
Remember to sterilize your jars before using and heat up the seal before placing on jars.
