Mmmmm......Donut

We all try to eat healthy. We take vitamins, calcium supplements, and make better food choices. I love coffee and whenever I go to Tim Hortons I always end up grabbing a muffin because I think it's better for me than a donut. Sure, I would rather have a Boston Creme donut, but muffins are healthier for me so I get one instead. Well I was wrong, check this out...

According to the Nurtrition Calendar on the Tim Hortons website it seems that a Blueberry Bran muffin has more calories, fat, cholesterol, and sugar than a Boston Creme donut. Next time I go to Tim Hortons I definitely will be getting the Boston Creme donut to go with my coffee and whenever I go anywhere to eat I will be checking the nutritional fact sheets before I order.

Cold Stone Creamery Apple Fritter Ice Cream Review and Giveaway

Tim Hortons has recently gotten better, they have teamed up with Cold Stone Creamery and have made many stores both a Tim Hortons and a Cold Stone Creamery. This way not only can you get a donut and coffee, but you can also get ice cream at the same time. If you have never tried Cold Stone Creamery ice cream then you are absolutely missing out. They have the ultimate ice cream. It's made daily and you can either make your own special blend creation by adding a wide variety of ingredients from bananas to chocolate to nuts or you can get one of their specialty creations like the Mud Pie Mojo. They also have a great selection of ice cream cakes, ice cream pies, and ice cream cupcakes.

If you have ever been to a Tim Hortons before you all know about their original creation, the Apple Fritter, which has become an icon of Tim Hortons. Cold Stone Creamery have recently release an ice cream version of the Apple Fritter. We recently tried it and I have to say that it is amazing! Not only does it taste like an Apple Fritter donut, but there is even chucks of apples just like the Apple Fritter donut has in it. I actually got an Apple Fritter donut at the same time to compare the two and it is amazing how much they taste alike. The ice cream is so creamy that I might actually prefer the Apple Fritter ice cream to the Apple Fritter donut. If you haven't tried the Apple Fritter ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery then you really should because it is delicious and with the warmer weather of Spring upon us it is a perfect time to get some ice cream and try this amazing new flavor.

You can find a Tim Hortons Cold Stone Creamery location near you by clicking this link here www.timhortons.com/coldstone.

Computer Safety

We all love our electronics. Not only do we love our blackberry playbook, laptops, and tablets, but our kids love them too. Often my children, especially my teenager uses her laptop for everything from homework to chatting with friends online. When it comes to computers I think that we all should educate our children on computers and computer safety. Let's face it computers are here to stay and almost every job out there uses a computer in some sense. But when it comes to computer safety you should monitor what your child does on the computer. A great way to do this is to have your child use the computer in front of you. This may mean they are not allowed to use the laptop in their bedroom, but only in the livingroom where you can keep an eye on them. Your child's safety comes first and that includes use of the internet.

Spring Cleaning Tip #2

A great way to start off your Spring cleaning is by going through your stuff and donating anything you do not want anymore or do not use anymore. Why keep stuff around that you don't need? Every Spring I go through my stuff and pack away stuff that I no longer need or use and donate it to those that can use it. I also give my children a cardboard box and ask them to put anything they no longer want in it to donate also. This is a great way to teach kids to help those less fortunate then themselves.

Spring Cleaning Tip #1

Now that Spring is here it's time to start packing away your Winter clothes. When putting away clothes at the end of a season it's a good idea to make sure they are all clean before packing them away. You want to neatly fold them and put them in a sealed container, such as a Rubbermaid tote, to make sure no humidity gets at them. Another great idea you can do to keep them fresh is to put a laundry sheet in with them to keep them smelling fresh and clean.

Keep checking back for more Spring cleaning tips!

Allay Patch Review

I think being a women is wonderful, we are able to give birth to our children, we get pampered by our husbands, we get to be girlie, and so much more. The only problem with being a women is that dread time of the month. Ever since I was a teenager I've had difficulties attributed to that time of the month. Because of this I've tried just about everything out there to help relieve the symptoms of my month bill that included prescription and non-prescription medication. I've noticed a lot of the medication out there that are aimed toward helping relieve these symptoms made me feel tired and drugged out. Being a busy mom I don't have the time to spend the day in bed with a heating pad on my stomach nor can I function properly being tired or drugged out. Luckily I don't have to anymore since I found Allay.

What is Allay -

Allay was developed by doctors and manufactured by BioElectronics as a drug-free solution to pain and discomfort associated with menstruation. It is an electronic device inside a soft bag that emits low-level energy pulses which quickly relieve edema, inflammation, and pain. The Allay patch was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top medical innovations of 2009. Allay works so well that it is recommended by physicians and clinical study results show that 77.1% of women using Allay reported complete elimination or significant reduction in their typical menstrual symptoms.

How does it work -

The Allay patch uses pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) to combat the pain and swelling associated with menstruation. A small battery operates this device and the device is placed inside a soft bag that is placed where you feel the pain.

My thoughts -

I was so pleasantly surprised by the Allay patch. I honestly don't understand how PEMF works, all I know is that the Allay patch worked for me. About 30 minutes after I put the Allay patch on my symptoms started to ease and a couple of hours later my pain was all gone. Not only did the Allay patch get rid of the pain for me, but it's so easy to use that you simply turn it on and place it where it hurts and forget about it. You don't have to keep remembering to take pills for the pain. I think this drug-free method is amazing and as a mother to a teen aged daughter who suffers as well from this I think the Allay patch is a great way to control and eliminate her pain without having to give her medication. The Allay patch worked for me and I would recommend it to anyone who suffers from menstrual pain to try it.

Infant Car Seat Regulations In Canada

Having the right car seat for your baby is very important. Here are some rules and regulations for infant car seats in Canada.

All newborns and infants require a rear facing car seat designed for your baby's height and weight. The car seat must be placed in the back seat of the car rest at a 45-degree angle and move no more than 2.5 cm (1 in.) where the seatbelt or Universal Anchorage System (UAS) strap is routed through the child car seat. All babies must be rear facing until the child weighs 20 lbs or one year old. When your child reached 20 pounds they then can be moved into a toddler car seat.

Keep your child safe and secure by having them in the proper car seat and properly fastened in.

For more information about car seat safety click this link to take you to Transportation Canada.

Camera Critters #153

Camera Critters is a weekend meme, about what else but critters, created my very own BBFF, Misty.

This is L, our newest pet, a lop eared rabbit . My daughter has been wanting a bunny for the past couple of years since her other two passed away and we finally broke down and got one. The kids love him and he is very good and loves to be held. He does have a habit of knocking over his food dish though. I'm thinking he may be very useful this summer for mowing the lawn. Okay he might now be as good as those simplicity zero turn mowers, but I'm sure he would love to play on the lawn eating grass.

Things To Do On March Break

It's March Break here and that means the kids are home from school this week. There are lots of things you can do on March Break to keep your children entertained. One thing we do is have a movie day. Movie theaters usually have a special on March Break with very inexpensive tickets to childrens movies or you can have a movie day at home where you rent a couple of movies and make your own popcorn. At my house on March Break we have a baking day. My kids love to bake so one day we make cupcakes, brownies, and cookies. Whatever the kids want to make we make. Another thing you can do is have a playdate or visit family and friends. We also have a Mall day where we spend the day at the Mall. The kids love shopping and while they are excited to get a new toy they don't mind spending time looking for things that I like such as Murray Feiss lighting.

It doesn't really matter what you do on March Break with your kids, just as long as you spend time with them.

Veggie Tales 'Twas Was The Night Before Easter, Hosanna! CD, and Here Comes Peter Cottontail Easter Contest

Easter is quickly approaching and I have a few great Easter gift ideas that any child would love to find in their Easter basket. We all know children love to find chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs in their Easter basket on Easter morning, but too much chocolate isn't good for them and it only lasts a little while. A great idea is to put in something that the child will be able to enjoy for a long time. Three things that I think would be a great gift is the newest VeggieTales movie called 'Twas Was The Night Before Easter, the classic children's cartoon Here Comes Peter Cottontail, and VeggieTales Hosanna! music CD,

Here Comes Peter Cottontail is the classic 1971 movie we all watched and loved as children.

Peter Cottontail wants to be the #1 Chief Easter Bunny and everyone in April Valley agrees...except for his archrival, evil Irontail. Hop along with Peter and his friends as they race through time celebrating all of your favorite holidays to deliver the most eggs...and save Easter for children everywhere!

Currently available for $9.98 SRP. You can purchase this DVD at retail and video stores. It can also be purchased online from Amazon.

VeggieTales 'Twas The Night Before Easter is another wonderful christian movie by VeggieTales that teachers your child morals, values, and about God while entertaining them at the same time.

It’s Easter time in Crisper County and cable news reporter Marlee Meade (Petunia Rhubarb) is hunting for a way to help others. On a tip that the old town theater will be shut down, Marlee cooks up a plan to save the stage and make a difference through the power of musical theater. With a cast of costume-clad townies, massive props and a 20-foot robot rabbit - “Up With Bunnies” is hatched! There’s only one thing missing – the star of the show! When news spreads that singing sensation Cassie Cassava (Melinda Doolittle) is arriving to perform in her hometown church’s Easter service, Marlee gets worried. Concerned about the competition, she schemes to steal the starlet for her own pageant! But when things go haywire, will it be curtains for Marlee’s dreams – or will she discover the true meaning of Easter and what helping others is really all about?

Available March 8th for $14.93 SRP. You can purchase this DVD online from the VeggieTales website and at select stores.

VeggieTales Hosanna! CD is a great children's music CD featuring the voices of the VeggieTales characters along with christian music stars Amy Grant and Mark Hall.

The Hosanna! CD includes ten all new easy-to-sing worship favorites made popular by some of today’s top worship artists – sung by beloved VeggieTales characters and kids just for kids! Amy Grant sings the title track, “Hosanna,” and lead vocalist Mark Hall of Casting Crowns, named Billboard’s No. 1 Top-selling Christian Band of 2010, lends his voice on the group’s No. 1 radio hit, “Who Am I.” Also included are Veggie arrangements of Israel Houghton’s upbeat “Just Wanna Say,” Chris Tomlin’s “Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone,”) Hillsong LIVE’s “Mighty To Save” and Brenton Brown’s “Everlasting God,” to name a few.

VeggieTales: Hosanna! Today’s Top Worship Songs for Kids! Track Listing
  1. Mighty To Save
  2. Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)
  3. Hosanna
  4. Everlasting God
  5. Your Grace is Enough
  6. Just Wanna Say
  7. Your Name
  8. Who Am I
  9. Perfect Love
  10. Lord You Are Good
Available March 8th for SRP $9.99. You can purchase this CD from the VeggieTales website and at select stores.

My 6 year old son loves all of these. He must have watched 'Twas The Night Before Easter at least a dozen times in the past week and he constantly listens to the Hosanna! CD all the time. He even took the movie and DVD to school to show his class for Show & Tell. He loves them that much! The whole family loved watching Here Comes Peter Cottontail, including my 17 year old daughter who remembered watching it as a child. It certainly is a classic movie for all ages.

Would you like to win all three of these wonderful products that would make any ones Easter even more special?

Being A Mother Means Love

Being a mother means lots of things. It means sleepless nights, discovering there is not enough time in the day, carpooling, and so many other things. One thing that being a mother means, and what I think is the most important of all is love. Being a mother means you love your child and your child loves you back. You child shows you they love you in so many different ways, by hugs and kisses, drawings they make for you, the flowers for mothers day they give you, but what I think is the best way is the smile on their face and the way their eyes light up when they see you.

Being a mother means love, giving love and getting love.

Just because you're a stay-at-home mom doesn't mean you have a real job. Sure you might not have big meetings and Conference calls, but that doesn't mean you don't do anything. Here are some jobs that mom does.

Chef
Financial Manager
Nurse
Childcare Worker
Housekeeper
Chauffeur
Dietitian
Office Manager
Secretary
Animal Caregiver
Teacher
Security
These are just a few of the things that a mother does on a daily basis, so the next time someone says "Oh, you're just a housewife" don't let it bother you because you know exactly how many jobs you do at once.

    Try Febreze NOTICEables For FREE

Spring is coming, but it's not here yet. It's still way too cold outside to turn the heat off let alone open any windows. When winter starts to come to an end you might notice, especially parents, that your house is starting to smell a little like wet mittens. You know that smell, the smell you get from wet boots and mittens sitting by the heater to dry. It's almost a stale smell and what you really want to do is air your home out, but it's still way too cold out to do that. What you can do though is plug in a Febreze NOTICEables to make your home smelling fresh and clean.

Febreze NOTICEables is an alternating scented oil warmer you simply plug into any outlet for 30 days on low setting. It alternates between two complementary scents all day so you don’t get used to the same scent. In addition to living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens, try it for background odours like mustiness and pet smell.

I love the Febreze NOTICEables because not only does it work great, but it lasts a long time. There is no running into a room when company arrives spraying it with air freshener. I also like the fact that it has two settings, low and high, so you can use as much or as little as you like depending upon how much you need. What's also great is that it comes in two scents so you room doesn't always smells that same. Febreze NOTICEables works great in the area where you set your boots and shoes, near the cats litter box, and in any room where you need a little freshness.

Want to try Febreze NOTICEables for free? They are having a great Trade-Up to a Febreze NOTICEables for FREE after mail in rebate going on right now. All you have to do is buy ONE Febreze® NOTICEables® Scented Oil Warmer 1-Pack or ONE Febreze NOTICEables Scented Oil Warmer with decorative cover. Go ahead, give it a try! Not only will you love Febreze NOTICEables , but when you do the Trade-Up to a Febreze NOTICEables for FREE after mail in rebate you'll get the product for FREE!
