Tomorrow is December 1st! That means there is only 25 shopping days left until Christmas. With so many things like decorating, baking, shopping, and wrapping to do 25 days doesn't seem like enough time to get it all done. Because Christmas time is always so hectic we often don't eat properly. Grabbing some fast food seems like an ideal option, but we pay for it in the end. The 10 pounds people put on at Christmas is partly due to all the sweets and large meals at Christmas time, but it is also partly due to poor meal choices we make due to lack of time and rushing to get everything done during the holiday season. Asking Santa for some fitness equipment for Christmas can help combat those 10 Christmas pounds, but also by making better choices while we are rushed this holiday season is another way you can help. Instead of grabbing fries and a burger at the mall while you are Christmas shopping, order a salad or a healthy choice sandwich. By doing this those 10 pesky Christmas pounds won't appear.

I was discussing with my BBFF Misty about our blogs and website directory submission when I mentioned to her about how cold it was and I wanted a cup of hot chocolate. That reminded me to show her the current project my daughter did for Entrepreneurship class. In this class they learn about business and about running your own small business. One of the things they have to do is make a product to sell at school during lunch hour. Since it's almost Christmas my daughter decided to make hot chocolate, but not just any hot chocolate, hot chocolate candles.

What this picture may look like is an ordinary cup of hot chocolate, but what it really is, is a candle. It is quite simple to make and I will be posting the instructions this week so that you too can make hot chocolate candles so make sure you come back and check it out.

It's just snow Princess, you don't have to keep sniffing it. My dog is always fascinated when it snows. She keeps sniffing it, jumping in it, and basically has a blast in it. What I find fascinating about Princess and snow is how it makes her fur look. Princess is an ivory colored dog, but next to the snow it looks like she's been using a tanning bed to get a tan. I just wonder how she can afford tanning or the tanning bed lotion? It's not like she has a job or an income. Hmmm....maybe it's those stash of bones she has buried that she uses to pay for it?

Remember when your kid were little and their Christmas wish list was five pages long. Remember thinking back then how expensive it was Christmas shopping for your child. For those of you who don't have teenagers yet just wait until you do. Teenagers Christmas wish lists aren't very long, that's because the things on their wish list are extremely expensive! They want iPhones, iPad, laptops, PSP3's and every other electronic they can think of that costs hundreds of dollars. When purchasing expensive gifts for your teenager it's always a good thing to purchase warranties for them. Why buy them an iPad for $500 without purchasing an ipad warranty? Teenagers are destructive and something as expensive and delicate as electronics have little hope in the hands of a teenager. So before you go out and spend lots of money on an electronic gift for your teenager make sure you purchase some warranty along with it.

Happy Thanksgiving! Today is a day of thanks, of family, and of lots of delicious food. Tomorrow is a day of shopping for most everyone due to the amazing Black Friday deals. Tomorrow I have lots to do. My car need registered so that means waiting in line at the motor vehicle office for hours so I'm not sure how much shopping I will be able to get done, but I do know I need to find the best acne treatment for my teenager before the kid Christmas photos.

Brrr! It's cold outside and it's supposed to snow today. I think I'll just spend the day laying in bed watching my samsung lcd TV. Hmmm....since it is going to snow maybe I'll watch some Christmas cartoons.

Okay maybe that's not what the cat is really thinking, but it sure sounds like a good idea to me and since my little one is sick I know he would love to have mommy cuddle with him and watch Christmas cartoons all day. Okay, you talked me into it!

I will be taking a few days off due to family illness. It seems like everyone is getting sick at the same time and because of that I need to spend time taking care of my family. Posting will resume in a few days, and in the meantime make sure you enter my current contest.

This time of year it's getting really cold out, especially in the mornings. Since life is so hectic that often you don't have time to eat breakfast at home and have to grab something on the run. We all know Tim Hortons has the best coffee, but their breakfast is also amazing. On a recent outing we stopped and had breakfast there.


My daughter loves the Hot Breakfast Sandwich on a biscuit and because of this it's her new favorite place to eat breakfast at. The Homestyle Oatmeal is my favorite, and of course it's the Breakfast wraps for my husband. My son loves the Homestyle Hash Browns and when he tried the oatmeal he really liked it and ate most of it on me. Good thing I bought an extra Hot Breakfast Sandwich. I think it's great that there is a place where you can go to get a healthy and nutritious breakfast for the family or simply something quick healthy for yourself on the run at such an amazing price.

The cold weather is upon us and that means dry itchy skin and chapped lips. Because the air is so dry with the use of electric heat and the cold air of outside your skin gets dry very easily and the need for moisturizer is very important, not only for your skin, but also for your lips. There is a lot of great skin lotions out there that will help you fight dry skin that you can get during this cold weather. What works the best depends on what you prefer. The best bet is to simply check out your local pharmacy for different brands that are specifically for dry skin. When it comes to you lips using a lip balm daily is the best way to prevent dry chapped lips. They usually have these in the drug store in the makeup department or near the cold sore herpes simplex treatments.

Make sure you take care of your skin this winter by using moisturizer and lip balm.

My five year old asked me how to tell the difference between a boy deer and a girl deer. Before my teen aged daughter could say something silly to him like you need to scan it with a barcode scanner to see what it is, I jumped in and told him the boy deers have antlers. His big sister loves to tease him, but a lot of the time he believes her. He actually believed her when she told him chocolate milk comes from brown cows. Big sisters eh!

The player rolls a dice to move and the spot they land on tells them exactly how much money they earned and why, such as 40 cents for washing the dishes. They then spin the spinner to find and find out which coins they can use to make up the 40 cents. After playing the game the kids asked to do some chores around the house to make some real money and after they did so they wanted to count the money out themselves just like in the game.

Mothers have many roles. They are the cook, the maid, the chauffeur, the nurse, and in my family I am also the financial manager. It's November, that means it's time to start get your flu shot. Yesterday my whole family went and got their seasonal flu shot. It's very important to get your flu shot, especially for children, people with chronic medical conditions, pregnant women, the elderly, and caregivers.

Nobody likes having the flu. The flu is a virus that makes you sick for about a week. It causes cold like symptoms, but on a higher scale. Symptoms include can include fever, chills, cough, body aches, headaches, earaches and sinus problems. The flu can also lead to other medical problems that can be very dangerous.

• The flu is a common respiratory infection that affects millions of Canadians each year and is a significant cause of serious illness and death.
• There are more than 13,600 hospitalizations each year in Canada attributed to the seasonal flu.
• Flu and pneumonia (which is a common complication of influenza) combined was the seventh leading cause of death in Canada, causing 5,845 of the 230,132 deaths in Canada in 2005. While most of these deaths are in seniors, there are deaths in every age group.
• Flu immunization has been shown to reduce episodes of upper respiratory illnesses (URIs), as well as absenteeism from work and visits to GPs offices due to URIs.
