Although summer is almost over it's still pretty hot out and something I did all summer long to beat the heat and save a little money was to make my own frozen treats. Popsicle molds are a great way to do this. You can purchase them at the dollar store or department stores and they come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. What I like the best about making your own popsicles is you can fill them with real fruit juice instead of a sugary mixture like popsicles you buy at the store. This way your children get to cool off and get their servings of fruit.

Just a tip for keeping your kids cool in the car. Install window tint on your windows instead of messing around with those window shades. Our baby girl hates the sun, especially with the child seat forces her to look up. We installed a car tint kit from SnapTint to cut down on her annoyance. Works great so far, also keeps the car cool for grownups too.
