Our last night of camping we had the best campfire! We had a little bit of help lighting it, but it was mainly me and my fav SIL who did it....right Michelle?

We're finally back from camping. It was a fun trip, but now the real work begins. I have so much camping stuff to unpack from it feel like I'm unpacking moving boxes instead of camping supplies. I also have about 6 loads of laundry to do. Why is coming home from a vacation a lot of work? After I'm all done this stuff from coming home from vacation I think I'll need another one. I took lots of pictures that I'll post this week including a special visitor we had at our campsite, but you'll have to wait from Camera Critters to see that one.

Here is one of the yellow lilies that are growing in my flower beds. My kids call them banana flowers because of their color and before they bloom the buds look like bananas.

My son is four years old and as you all know four year olds like to make messes and do silly things. My husband always says things like "Why did he leave his trains all over the floor?", "Why didn't he pick up his crayons?", "Why did he eat his chocolate pudding with his fingers?". Today is the last exam for my daughter and then she is done. Summer vacation is here! This is a really busy week for me so I'm going to cheat a little and post a thrifty hint I already post on my other blog A Little Girl Talk.

Why waste you money going to a spa to get a facial. In this economy who has the money? Giving yourself a facial at home is relatively easy to do. You can either purchase the facial supplies you need at your local drugstore or make them yourself.





Step 1 - Cleanse
Wash with your favorite cleanser. A great one to use that doesn't cost much is liquid baby soap as it is gentle on the skin.

Step 2 -Exfoliate
Gently rub your favorite exfoliate into your skin. Use gentle circular motions. An easy at home recipe is to mix one packet of instant oatmeal with enough warm water to make a paste.

Step 3 - Steam
This is really easy. Simply place a warm face cloth on your face until it starts to cool a couple of times.

Step 4 - Mask
Depending upon your skin type, oily or dry, use the appropriate facial mask for your skin. These two can also be made. For oily skin mix 1 teaspoon of citrus juice, 1 beaten egg white and 1 teaspoon of sour cream. For dry skin puree 1/2 cucumber and mix with 1 tablespoon of yogurt. After 15 minutes with the mask on rinse off well.

Step 5 - Moisturize
This last step is to simply apply your favorite moisturizing cream on your face.

It was six years ago that my father passed away and we all still miss him a lot. I was going through the Bereavement Cards that I received and it was so nice to re-read all the wonderful things people said about him. Every year my wonderful father goes out and picks lots of blueberries and always gives us a lot of them. I freeze them and then later on make blueberry bangbelly and blueberry pie. I've post my blueberry bangbelly recipe already and so now I'm going to share with you my blueberry pie recipe. It's really easy and simple to make.

5 Cups of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
7 Tablespoons of corn starch
3/4 Cup of white sugar

Mix together in a bowl so that the blueberries are covered with the sugar and cornstarch.

Pour into a pie crust and place another pie crust on top(you can make your own or buy a frozen pie crusts).

Bake at 400 degrees for about 50 minutes.

I like to eat my blueberry pie warm with vanilla ice cream on top.
