Aidan loves going to the mall just so he can ride the coin operated rides. He usually picks one of the cars to ride and has no interest in the animal ones. Must be a boy thing eh!

I'm sorry everyone but I just had to, I had to cut Aidan's hair. I know everyone loves the curls and I do too, but I don't like how unruly the curls can get. Seriously though, this is what I have to deal will all day unless I constantly wet his hair down.


So I cut it...short! Don't worry though the curls are still there. I cut his hair this short before and in a couple of months time it was back to the curly unruly hairdo you see above.


I kinda like it though, he looks like a big boy now.

Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day, a day where kids stand up against bullying. In 2007 two Nova Scotia high school students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against bullies who picked on a boy who wore a pink shirt to school. The bullies threatened the boy and called him names for wearing a pink shirt. David and Travis went to a discount store and bought 50 pink shirts and emailed all their classmates to join in on their anti-bullying campaign they called "a sea of pink". The next day hundreds of students showed up at school wearing pink clothes showing their support and taking a stand against bullying.

February 25th is Pink Shirt Day, please encourage your child to wear pink and take a stand against bullying.

Today is Shrove Tuesday or what some like to call Pancake Tuesday. It is the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. Why do we eat pancakes on this day you ask, well basically it is an old tradition. Wikipedia definition is this.

The reason that pancakes are associated with the day preceding Lent is that the 40 days of Lent form a period of liturgical fasting, during which only the plainest foodstuffs may be eaten. Therefore, rich ingredients such as eggs, milk, and sugar are disposed of immediately prior to the commencement of the fast. Pancakes and doughnuts were therefore an efficient way of using up these perishable goods, besides providing a minor celebratory feast prior to the fast itself.

Since tomorrow is the first day of Lent I have to decide what to give up for Lent. I'm thinking cleaning...what do you mean I can't give that up? Alright fine then, somebody pass the maple syrup.

In case you are wondering how much snow we have where I live just take a look at this picture.


What, you can't tell, well then check this out.


That's our trampoline that hubby forgot to take down and if you have ever been on a trampoline you all know how tall they are. Our trampoline is higher then my waist and you can see that the snow is up to the top of it, so basically the snow on my lawn would be over my waist if I tried walking on my lawn.

Last night we had another snowstorm. They a heavy snowfall warning and today we have a blizzard warning. We got about 40 more centimeters of snow. So you can all see why I hate snow so much, we've had way too much of it this year.

I won! I won! I can't believe I won! I want to thank the academy the blogoshpere and Sanni for holding the awards this year. Actually it was Aidan who won, he won for Best Performance In A Supporting Role. Aidan wanted me to say thank you to all and especially thank you to his parents for believing in him.

Only one more week of school and then it's Spring Break for the kids here. To my daughter this means sleeping in and hanging out with her friends, to me it means something totally different. Spring Break means the beginning of Spring cleaning. I have to got out and restock my cleaning supplies for this and one thing that I will definitely be buying is some Febreze products. This is what my sky has been looking like lately, dark and cloudy because of all the snow we had.


I kinda like this picture though, it's very dark and eerie looking isn't it.

School was canceled today because of the storm. Actually it didn't start snowing until about 10 AM, but they canceled school because it's suposed to get bad later. We decided that today is a stay in our pajamas day and watch cartoons. I suppose snow is good for somethings like being able to chill with the kids, but I really really really can't wait for Spring to come.

Man, we just can't get a break from the snow. We're supposed to get up to 25 more centimeters in the newest storm were supposed to have tomorrow.

Doesn't Aidan look happy here? No he didn't get a new barcode scanner to play with, My Friends Tigger And Pooh was on TV. Aidan loves to sing and dance along to the opening theme song of that show. I'm glad he's getting into cartoon other then Thomas The Tank Engine because that show is really starting to annoy me. Don't get me wrong, it's a cute show, but after watching it a zillion times it starts to get on your nerves. He still loves Thomas and actually he's wearing his Thomas pajamas in this picture, but it's nice that he's starting to like other cartoons.

I'm going to tell you about a little legend we have at our house. When Aurora was little we told her about the leprechaun that lived in out attic and that on St.Patrick's Day if you were a very good child the leprechaun would leave a pot of gold for them. Every St.Patrick's Day morning Aurora would get up and find a small pot of chocolate coins and treats/toys from the leprechaun. One year the leprechaun even left little foot prints thanks to doll shoes and mud. We have carried on this tradition with Aidan and although I'm not sure if Aurora still believes in the legend of the leprechaun living in our attic, she still likes to get the chocolate coins on St.Patrick's Day morning.

This week I want to introduce you to my long time blogging friend Anna. Okay most of you may already know Anna because she runs the very popular blog called Beth and Cory's Mom, but I'm going to talk about her anyway because she is such an amazing person.

I first met Anna not long after I started blogging. I noticed her blog and I thought to myself hey she has two teenagers and since my daughter just turned into a teenager this would be a great blog to read and maybe get some hints from.

It's a partridge in a pear birch tree. I saw this large bird fly into a tree outside my kitchen window. I must have sat there for an hour hoping it would come closer so I could get a good picture, but it was so cold sitting there with the window open that I finally gave up. I guess patience is not a virtue of mine.

Happy 15th Birthday to my beautiful daughter Aurora! I love you sweetheart!

I miss skies like this! This was taken last summer in the early morning. The skies now are all dark and deary in the morning. I want Spring or at least some warm weather. Heck I'm even willing to ship myself in a box to one of my bloggers friends that live some place warm. I'll even pay for the shipping and material handling charges. All I need is a large cardboard box with some air holes in it. So, any takers?

Today I have extra stuff on my regular "To Do" List. I have to go pay bills, get groceries and pick up the Valentine's gifts. You may notice I'm not picking up any performance parts this week. What you didn't notice? I have to pick up the stuff for Aurora's birthday dinner also. Everyone gets to choose what they want for supper on their birthday and she chose ribs, mussels and shrimp. Did you happen to notice there isn't any vegetables on that list she choose? I really think my kids a carnivore. She hates it when we have Meatless Monday. Oh well, it's her birthday so I suppose once a year she can have a veggie-free supper.

Valentine's Day just isn't for adults, it's for kids too. Since my daughters birthday is on Valentine's Day we have always gotten her a little something for Valentine's Day. When she was younger we made a treat bag for her with a few chocolates, some heart stickers, Valentine's pencils and a small teddy bear. Now that she's older she gets flowers and chocolates from us, but we still make a special Valentine's treat bag for our four year old son. You can get all the things you need for a Valentine's treat bag at the dollar store so it isn't expensive to make one and I think it's a great way make your kids feel special and not left out on Valentine's Day.

Hubby always gets me a big box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. Good thing Valentine's Day comes once a year or I would have to check out Orovo detox to flush all that fat from the chocolates out of me.

I have 319 posts in my reader to visit and comment on, I have a house full of kids today and tonight, I need to clean and I'm exhausted. Well that's my day today, what are you doing today?

We're supposed to talk about a time when love played a part in our lives. Since it's almost Valentine's Day I want to talk about a very important love in my life whose birthday is on Valentine's Day, my daughter Aurora.


Aurora is my first baby and just because of that alone she will always hold a special place in my heart. She's an amazing girl who is going to turn 15 very soon. Man, I can't believe that little baby in that picture has turned into a beautiful smart talent young woman so quickly. Aurora taught me unconditional love. From the first moment I held her I realized what being a mother meant, I wanted to protect and love her for the rest of my life. Even though she is almost an adult she will always be my baby girl. My love for her is higher then any Elm trees, it's all the way around the world and back again. I love you baby girl!

Okay most of you already know Sanni and for those of you who don't you really should. Sanni is an amazing blogger and person. She has two adorable children who are her joy. She is very talented when it comes to coding and even though I have annoyed her with lots of questions about HTML she has always graciously taken time out of her busy schedule and helped me. If you don't already know Sanni then I definitely think you really should take the time and meet her. She's a wonderful friend and someone I am so grateful to have gotten to know. Love ya Sanni (even more then Misty does LOL)!

My niece J.T. was lying on the couch watching TV and Aidan went and got her a pillow and blanket. He must have thought she looked so cozy that he crawled up beside her. The looked so cute together that I wanted to take a picture of the two of them, but every time I tried to take a picture Aidan had to hold up his Nintendo DS.






I think J.T. got a little annoyed with Aidan ruining the shots.


Then they both got tired of me taking pictures and ignored me.
