Aidan's New Sweater

For almost a year now I've been searching for a Thomas The Tank Engine knitting pattern. No where around where I live has any or can even order any in for me. The only place I can find any is on eBay and all of them are in the UK. I've bid on about a dozen of them over the past year, but after bidding $10 for on and then having to pay about $10 for mailing, I've always been outbid. There is no way I can spend over $20 for a knitting pattern.

I did come up with a solution to this problem though, I made my own pattern. Okay it's not "officially" a Thomas The Tank Engine sweater because that would be copy right infringement and that would just be wrong. What I did was take some knitting graph paper and drew a train similar to Thomas on it, and I'm using a plain sweater pattern that I already had. I'm just putting the picture of the train on the front of it. I started a few days ago and this is what it looks like so far.

I think it's going to look close enough to Thomas The Tank Engine to make my 3 year old happy, but if anyone does have a copy of a Thomas The Tank Engine knitting pattern I would love to have it.

I don't think it's a copyright issue if you're not reselling the pattern or the sweater. Go ahead and make the actual Thomas! Though the one you're making looks great. I know I couldn't do it!

I don't knit but my son had a Thomas The Tank Engine jumper way back in the 1980's.

Thomas is timeless :)

Oh that looks awesome so far! I've got to get myself past the scarf stage and actually figure out how to knit something a bit more challenging. :)
