NEED COFFEE

Last night my husband had to get up at midnight to get ready for work. With my husband up and getting ready for work it woke my toddler up. So there I am at midnight trying to get my son back to sleep. I tried laying down with him, cuddling with him, reading him a story, I even let him watch a cartoon in bed thinking that he may fall asleep watching it. I finally got him back to sleep, at 4:30 am! He slept in till 10am and thankfully my husband was home from work at that time and he let me sleep in longer. I don't know how I used to do it when I was a teenager, going on a couple of hours of sleep. I need at least 8 hours of sleep now or I'm a walking zombie. It's after 8 pm now and my son is sound asleep. If he wakes up at midnight tonight and stays awake until 4:30 am again tonight I am going to have to intravenously feed coffee to myself to stay awake.

I can't tell you how many times I have to do that when my two kiddos won't sleep, or sleep and wake up on an irregular time. Coffee always works for me too when I have to stay awake during the day when I have to work. :)

Firstly, have changed your blog address as requested.
Secondly, hope no more of those midnight wakings as far as your son is concerned. :)

Hi Tammy!

Congrats on your own domain...is blogger still hosting...I'm sooo naive on all this stuff!

My 14 month old still wakes up at all odd hours of the night. Thankfully my 3 yr. old sleeps well, knock on wood! lol! I dream of the nights when I sleep a full 8 hours ( of course, then I'll be all misty-eyed missing my "babies" waking me up!) Mommies...it's a tough job but what a great one to have!

Aw, that stinks. I am here slurping up my coffee too. My daughter slept til 4:30am then something startled her and I couldn't get her back to sleep til 6:30. Yours was definitely worse though. Take care...more sleep tonight hopefully : )

OMG! I know how you feel!! I hope that doesn't happen again anytime soon. I'm like you: I need my sleep, but I haven't had eight hours of sleep in so long that I wouldn't know what to do with myself. Probably be bouncing off the wall with energy! :-)
