THE GREAT FLOOD

Today my niece, her husband and thier three kids came down to visit and make supper for us. She's only eight years younger than me and we grew up like sisters. While I was in the kitchen with her making supper her daughter, which is almost three was looking at the turtle in the fish tank. She tried to climb up on it and knocked the fish tank and the stand down. It's quite a large fish tank and it was filled to the top with water. Luckily my great niece never got hurt, only soaked. BUT...the whole living room was flooded. Guess what, that's where I keep my computer. Yep, my computer got wet. We took it apart, dried it out, cleaned it and it was okay at first, but then it started acting funny. The keyboard and mouse wouldn't work. After a few hours of hitting it, loving it, and swearing at it, I think it's finally okay, but it's still acting a little funny. If you are wondering about the turtle and fish that were in the tank, they're okay, but the stand broke and my husband had to fix it. My living room rug is still soaked. The wet/dry vac is broke so I had to use every towel in the house to try and mop up what water I could. I cranked up the heat in the living room and hopefully in the next day or two it will be dry. It has been a really stressful day so I'm off to take a hot bath and go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Oh no! Not the computer!

I'm glad your great niece didn't get hurt, but still - that's all so awful. I hope everything dries soon.

So. did the tank get busted? As for the computer you should have let it dry out for a day or two. Water does horrible things to electronics.

Did the tank break, or just make a mess? I hope the floors dry out quickly. We once had our carpets get wet, and it took forever to dry. Then they smelled bad. We ended up ripping them up.

But I'm sure yours will be fine!

How's the foot doing?

Oh no! Thank goodness no one was hurt.

My Freshman year of college I had an aquarium in my dorm room. It somehow fell off the bookcase over Christmas break. My roommate was there two full days before me and did not clean up one drop. I hope you have lots of help with the cleanup!

Aww, at least there were no injuries to your niece or the marine life. Hopefully the rug dries.
