This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and we are having our dinner tomorrow at my brother-in-laws house. I always make the pies and this year was not different, except for the fact that I had to do it twice. All day I was busy making three pies, a pumpkin, a cherry-cranberry and a chocolate cream pie. When I finally had them all made I set them on the table to cool, BAD IDEA!!! I wasn't out of the room for five minutes and when I came back in all three pies were ruined. It seems that cats like pies, especially pumpkin. After a few minutes of cursing and chasing the cats I finally started laughing. It's okay if you laughed too, it's kinda funny. I am so lucky that I always have baking supplies on hand because it took me all night re-making pies for Thanksgiving dinner. This time I made sure the pies were safely out of the cats ways while they are cooling.

Happy Thanksgiving! My dad used to make pies for us. When he would come to bring us the pie, if we weren't there, he would leave it on the porch because he refused to go into our house when we weren't home. After the cats getting two pies, one of which was in a sealed tupperware container - he didn't leave any more pies on the porch!
P.S. I'll take a piece of chocolate and a piece of pumpkin, please!

Oh no! I didn't laugh at first. I was thinking 'oh, the gorgeous pies!' I'm glad you didn't have to run an errand to get more ingredients.

My mom baked a birthday cake for my aunt and our dog got to it. Guess dogs like cake.
